往復16キロのハイキングコース

味はバニラ味で、メロンパンより甘くなく、あっさりしたおいしいパンでした。

5月上旬に、ポイントレイズの最北端にあるTomales Pointへハイキングに出かけました。この日は、とても暑い日でしたが、Tomales Pointに着いたら、真っすぐに立っていられないほどの強風で、寒い！（ポイントレイズは、「北米西海岸で一番強い風が吹く名所」でもあります）。週末は、混雑するTomales Pointの人気ハイキングコースですが、週日は人も少なく大自然を静かに満喫することができます。ハイキングコースには、マウンテン‧ライオンが、出没する場所であるとの注意書きがあります。マウンテン‧ライオンは、人が大勢いる場所に現れることはないので、それほど心配することはないようです。それでも、『ライオン』という名がつく生き物ですから、ご対面は是非とも避けたいもの。誰もいないハイキングコースを一人で歩くといったことはしないのがベストです。マウンテン‧ライオンと出会うことはありませんが、鹿やエルクはいますので、よーく目を凝らして探してみましょう。強風のため、今回はハイキングコースを途中で引き返して来ましたが、いつかまた挑戦してみたいです。Tomales Pointのハイキングコースは、ポイントレイズの美しさを再確認できる場所でもあります。
On a hot day in early May, we went out to Tomales Point at Point Reyes for a hike. Tomales Point is the most northern tip of Point Reyes National Seashore Park. When we arrived there, it got very windy (Point Reyes is the windiest place on the west coast of North America). If you want to avoid a crowd, you need to go there on a weekday. It's SO beautiful there. Tomales Point Trail has a mountain lion warning sign. The majority of Mountain Lions at Point Reyes apparently live in this area. But, you don't need to worry about it too much as the trail is usually busy with people on weekends. But, if all possible, you should avoid hiking on your own (it is an isolated location after all). However, you will see elk and deer, so keep your eyes on the fields. We only hiked half way this time, so I don't know how challenging the trail can be near the end. But, I can say that this trail will remind you how beautiful Point Reyes is.

妹はどんなのを選んでも似合うのに・・・・。
やっぱ帽子向きの頭の形ってのがあるのかしらね?
でも、Natsukoさんのそのキャップ、よくお似合いよ^^
メキシコ版「メロンパン」は、バニラ味とチョコ味がありました。帽子向きの頭の形と言うより、帽子向きの顔の大きさというのがありそう（笑）。コリンは顔が小さいので、どんな帽子でも似合うので、羨ましい限り。Kichuraさんの妹さんも、どんな帽子もこなせて羨ましいなあ❤
Delete帽子のエピソード読みました！私も帽子が似合わない一人なので、とても共感しました～＾＾そちらは暑いので帽子がないといけないんですね。こちらは冬はマイナス２５度などと寒いので帽子がないと頭が痛くなったりするので必需品なのです。でも私はコートのフードをかぶってここ数年はなんとかお茶をにごしてきました＾＾；私もNatsukoさんみたいに思い切ってかぶってしまえばいいのかな、とちょっと勇気がでました（笑）
ReplyDeleteははは、Siiliさんもそうですか（笑）。これは、「帽子が似合わないクラブ」を結成しなくてはいけませんね。ふふふ。私は「かぶり物」がすべて駄目で、コートのフードなんかをかぶったら、もう宇宙人！カナダに住んでいた頃は、冬はフード付きのコートを着るのですが、これがもう似合わないというレベルを超えたものでした。本当にとほほです。Siiliさんも、「勇気」を出して野球帽に挑戦してみてくださーい。野球帽のつばの部分をぎゅっとつぼめると、「違和感」が薄れます（笑）。
