Colin and I fell in love with Ms. Mimi Kirchner's foxes at the "Renegde Craft Fair" last summer. But, by the time we got to her booth, we had spent all our money (we shopped until we dropped!). We decided to wait until the Christmas Fair, but after contacting Mimi, we discovered she would not be back in the Bay Area until the summer (tragic!). A wise man (Colin) then decided to order one of Mimi's creations directly from the artist herself (through Etsy). And now, This beautiful fox is ours. Ms. Kirchner's creations go beyond foxes. Take a look at her oh so cool tattooed men and women (HERE). She is amazingly talented. You can now actually buy her foxes and other cuties from "The Land of Nod" (HERE). They are cute but, not as cute as the original ones that are hand made by the artist herself. You can also watch Ms. Kirchner's profile video HERE. She is as lovely as her creations.
7月に初めて行ったサンフランシスコの『Renegde Craft Fair』で見かけ、コリンと一目惚れしたキツネ君が我が家にやって来ました。フェアで見かけた時には、もう既にいろんな物を買ってしまった後で、一文無し。12月のフェアまで我慢しようねということに。でも、12月のフェアにはこのキツネ君を作っているアーティストの方（ミミさん）は来ないことが分かり、「何事も決して諦めない精神」の持ち主であるコリンが、アーティストのミミさんから直接注文して、無事に我が家に到着。このミミさんの作品は、ご覧のとおりの可愛さ（こちら）なので、お洒落な子供用のおもちゃや家具を売る『The Land of Nod』で、大量生産されて売られる事にもなりました（これ）。もちろん可愛いのですが、やはり、ミミさん自身の手で作られたオリジナルと比べると可愛さも半減（お値段も半額ですが）。こればかりは、オリジナルでなければ可愛さが伝わりません。ミミさんの生い立ちを紹介した素敵なビデオがあるので、興味のある方はこちらもご覧ください。
