60年代にタイムスリップしたような気分になります。
One of the things I wanted to do before the end of 2012 was go inside the Marin Civic Center. I believe it is one of the last buildings Frank Lloyd Wright designed before he died in 1959 (he didn't get to see its completion). Every Wednesday, they have an hour long tour of the building by a very knowledgeable volunteer ($5 for a tour, and no reservations required). We often go to the Marin Civic Center for the Sunday Marin farmers market. But, we never have a chance to go inside. The tour was excellent. Our volunteer guide, Morris let us enjoy this world class architectural design on our own terms. He kindly answered everyone's questions, and told us some interesting stories, but did not bore us with factual details. He wanted us to savour the experience of being inside one of the world's most famous buildings. And, we certainly did. If you are visiting the San Francisco Bay Area, be sure to add the Marin Civic Center tour to your list!

コリン（ドライバー兼私の夫）のクリスマス休暇中、2012年中に行きたい場所リストを作り、最初に行ったのが、マリン郡庁舎（Marin Civic Center）。マリン郡庁舎は、有名なフランク‧ロイド‧ライトがデザインした建物です。そして、庁舎の駐車場は、毎週日曜日に行われるカリフォルニア全土で3番目に大きいファーマーズマーケットの場所としても有名です。日曜日は庁舎がお休みなので中に入ることができません。早速、毎週水曜日に行われる庁舎内の見学ツアーに参加してきました。ツアーは予約なしで参加可能です（参加費は1人5ドル）。フレンドリーなシニアボランティアの方が1時間ほどかけて、丁寧に説明してくれます。ツアーの詳細はこちら。
フランク‧ロイド‧ライトのお洒落で洗練されたデザインがそのまま残る素晴らしい建物です。マリン郡の自然の中に、颯爽と建つエレガントな外装。庁舎内は、偉大建築家特有のユニークで魅力的な内装です。60年代にタイムスリップしたような、そんな感覚に陥ること間違いなし。ツアーの後は、２階のカフェテリアでランチも頂けますよ。
