Our first archery experience begins @ the Kids corner.
初めてのアーチェリー。まずはキッズコーナーで練習（笑）。

弓が引けるようになったので森の中へ

森の中でアーチェリー。もう、気分はロビンフッド（笑）。
I've never ever been so focused in my entire life!

去年のクリスマス休暇中、お友達夫婦からアーチェリーの練習のお誘いを受けました。もちろん、私達はアーチェリーをするのは生まれて初めて。でも、ほら、ロビン‧フッドもやってますが、ひょいと弓を引くだけのことですから、誰にでもできそうではないですか？ねえ？そうした根拠のない自信を持って、お友達宅へ到着。テーブルの上に並べられた、なんとも怖々しい『コンパウンドボウ』と呼ばれる弓。あれ？ロビン‧フッドは、こういう弓は使っていなかったよね？これ、『ランボー』の弓ね。ちょっとこれは、初心者には危険なような気がするのですが...。この『ランボー』の弓、ちょっと引いただけでは、びくともしないのです。ちょっとどころか、一生懸命引いても、最後まで引けないという、なんとも頑丈な弓。ほら、ジョンランボーが使うくらいですか（笑）。と、笑ってごまかしている間もなく、練習場に到着し、『キッズコーナー』でまずは練習。お友達は、高校時代からアーチェリーをしていたというジョンランボー。お友達の奥さんも、どこにそんな腕力を持っていたのかとびっくりするくらい、ひょいと弓が引ける女ランボー（笑）。心優しく辛抱強いMr.ランボーとMrs.ランボーの指導のおかげで、私もようやく弓が引けるようになりました。ところが、弓は引けたのに、今度はなぜか、怖じ気づいて矢が放てない（笑）。コリンは、横でケラケラ笑って何の役にも立たず、再び心優しいMr.ランボーとMrs.ランボーの応援と「説得」の元、無事に弓を放つことができました。弓を放って分かるアーチェリーの楽しさ（笑）。アーチェリーというスポーツにのめり込む人が、沢山いる理由が分かります。練習の後、向かったのが森の中！もう、これぞロビン‧フッドの世界です！こんな森の中でアーチェリーができるとは、なんたる贅沢♡ とても貴重な体験をさせてもらい、感謝感激です。
追伸：次の日、コリンの腕には痛々しい痣が現れ、私の腕はものすごい筋肉痛でしばらく腕がほとんど上がらない状態になったのでした（笑）。
Our friends invited us out to try archery during the Christmas break last year. No, we have never tried archery before. But you know, how difficult could it be (think Robin Hood!)? As soon as we arrived at our friend's house, they gave us a quick lesson and helped us choose the right bow, and we were surprised to learn that we were about to use a very intimidating looking compound bow (you know the one used by John Rambo?) . Personally, I thought my bow would be more like the one Robin Hood used. Our VERY patient friends gave us a thorough lesson on how to use the compound bow. This is when you realize you have no muscle in your forearms! I was pathetic (Colin did much better)! I couldn't even pull the bow back for the longest time. Finally, I managed to pull the bow after many trials. But, then I was too scared to let go of my arrow (Haha?? I know!)! It was only after a lot of coaxing and encouragement from our VERY patient friends, I was finally able to let go. Wow! Now I know how people get addicted to this type of sport. After practicing at the Kid's Corner (very appropriate for our level), we went into the forest to shoot arrows. What a beautiful place! Welcome to Sherwood Forest! It was an experience of a lifetime that I'll never forget. Big thank you to our greatest friends!
P.S. The next day, Colin had a bruise on his arm, and my arm refused to function properly... We have a lot of respect for Mr. Rambo!

難しいよね～・・・っつか私が不器用なのか? ^^
ボウガンはアメリカの犯罪系のドラマに出てくるから知ってるけど、そーかぁ、そんなに力がいるのね。
構造的にはそっちのほうが簡単に扱えそうだったんだけど・・・。
Natsukoさんがいろんなことに挑戦してるのを見るのがすっごい楽しいわ。
Kichuraさん、アーチェリーは難しいですよねえ（笑）。
