My "birdwatching" necessities!
私の「バードウォッチング」に欠かせない物

晩ご飯の残りをさっと詰めてバードウォッチング‧ランチのできあがり
Colin loves birds. His knowledge of birds is impressive. After being together more than 15 years, his Japanese has not improved. Yet, he can tell you the names of birds in perfect Japanese (owl, crow, hawk, sparrow, heron, bat etc.) For 2013, he is participating in a Big Year for Marin county. (have you seen the movie "The Big Year"...?). Technically, I don't watch birds with him. I stay inside a car (nice and warm inside), and listen to my audio book while he wanders around the bush or marsh to watch birds. It's not a bad way to spend a weekend actually. He can work on his list, and I can read my books surrounded by nature.
新年に入ってから、ほとんどの週末をバードウォッチングに費やしています。正確には、バードウォッチングをしているのはコリンだけ。私は何をしているか？というと、自然の中で（正確には、車の中）、静かにオーディオブックを聞いています。今年に入って、コリンは既に41羽の鳥を確認しています。15年以上もやさしい日本人妻と暮らしていながら、彼の日本語は全く上達しません。にもかかわらず、コリンはなぜか鳥の名前なら日本語でスラスラ言えます。例えば、私が「お、トンビ！」と言うと、「トンビ」じゃなくて「トビ」とまるで日本の野鳥愛好家きどり。2013年は、コリンは野鳥愛好家となり、私は読書家となる、そういう年になりそうです。私達も年をとったようです。これから黄昏を２人で仲良く生きていきます。ふふふ。
