先週、『パシフィック‧ピンボール‧エキスポ（Pacific Pinball Expo)』に行ってきました（コリンが行きたーい❤とねだるので...）。30ドルの入場料で一日中無料でピンボールができるという、ピンボール好きな人にとっては夢のようなイベントだったようです。金曜日と土曜日は、なんと夜中の12時までオープンしていました。私のようにピンボールに興味のない人は、ピンボールアートを楽しむことができます。会場にある多くのピンボールはアラメダ（Alameda）にあるピンボール博物館から運ばれてきた貴重なもの。クールなピンボールアートにすっかり魅了されました。興味のある方は、博物館のサイトをご覧ください（ココ）。

We went to the Pacific Pinball Expo last weekend. The event attracted pinball enthusiasts  from all over the states. I just tagged along with Colin, not knowing what I was getting into. A $30 ticket will get you inside the expo, and you can play pinball literally all day long for free (they were open until mid night on Friday and Saturday). Well, if you love to play pinball, this is a little piece of heaven on earth for you. But, if you don't....well, you can still have a good time enjoying the art work on old pinball machines (but you definitely do not  need to stay there all day long for that!). Many of the machines are from the Pinball museum in Alameda, CA. If you are interested in pinball, you can check out their website (HERE).

日本では、幅広く使われている『MT』のマスキングテープ。ずっと欲しいな❤と思い続けて数ヶ月が経ちました。やっと念願かなって、サンフランシスコのジャパンタウンで買ってきました！可愛い❤ マスキングテープに、こんな可愛らしいデザインをつけようと考えた日本人は、天才です。今では、世界中に広がりつつある大人気の『MT』のマスキングテープです。『MT』のマスキングテープは和紙でできているんですね。そこがまた素晴らしい。コリンは、帰宅する度にアパートの中が「マスキングテープ化」していることを心から喜んでくれている様子。本当は、複雑な気持ちでいるのかもしれませんが（私を恐れて、口に出せないだけかもしれません）。うっしし。アメリカの『The Continaer Store』で、種類は少ないですが『MT』のマスキングテープを買うことができます（ココ）。でも、280円の2個入りテープが11.99ドルもします（倍以上です！）。サンフランシスコのジャパンタウンにある『Maido』では7ドルほどで買うことができます。それでも高いですね。もうすぐ、日本から両親が遊びに来ます。年老いた両親に、「これも持ってきてね、あれもね、ねっ、ねっ、ねっ」とネットで注文したものを送りつけ、２人のスーツケースは既に重量オーバー。最後に『MT』のマスキングテープもよろしく！と言ったら２人のスーツケースは一体どうなるのでしょうか？皆さん、親は大切にしなくてはいけません。マスキングテープなら、ズボンのポケットなんかに入れて持ってこれるのではないでしょうか...？「親不孝者！」という叫ぶ両親の声が聞こえたような...。

I've been admiring decorative Japanese masking tape for months. And finally I decided to give it a try.  I am now officially a "MT"convert. They are just so darn pretty! I'm a late comer to the world of "MT." Some Japanese people have been decorating their rooms with it (see HERE)! What a brilliant idea! It's easy to decorate with (it's masking tape after all), and perfect for apartment renters like us. These beautiful Japanese masking tapes are made with washi. The possibilities with these tapes are endless. Every day Colin comes home, he finds himself discovering a part of our apartment that has been covered with masking tape! The only drawback of this is that it can be pricy if you were to purchase it in North America. The Continaer Store sells designer MT, but they charge $11.99 for two rolls (HERE). They cost less than $3 for two rolls in Japan, so that's a bit too much to pay. I bought mine in SF Japan Town ("Maido"). You can buy them for about $7 for two rolls (a bit better...). Fortunately for me, my parents are visiting us soon. I'm going to ask them to fill their suit case with more MT. I'm sure they won't mind...?
