Our second visit to the Alameda Point Antique Fair.
10月に入ってもまだ暖かいカリフォルニアは、野外のアンティークフェアにぴったりの気候です。
A beautiful sunny day best spent outdoors.
時間を忘れて５時間も会場を見て歩きました。
We spent 5 hours at the fair.

プラスチックのミニサンタ☃
40ドルの値段がついていることに気づかないお店の旦那さんは、値段交渉を25ドルからスタート。すんなりと20ドルで交渉成立。お金を払った直後に、奥さんが戻ってきて叱られていた旦那さん。お気の毒です（笑）。
A brand new miniature santa! The original price was $40, and we got it for $20. The owner's husband didn't notice the price sticker his wife put on the Santa and started the negotiation price at $25! After we paid, his wife came back, and he got in a trouble. We just quietly ran away.

8月に初めて『 Alameda Point Antique Fair』へ行って以来、テレビでアンティーク関連の番組を観て更に刺激を受け、また10月のフェアに行ってきました。PBSで放送されている新しい番組『Market Warriors』は面白いので、アメリカ在住の方は是非ご覧ください。しばらくはまた規模の大きさに圧倒され、何も買わずに時間が過ぎていったのですが、コリンの粘り強い値段交渉の後に購入したハロウィンのデコレーションがきっかけとなり、後はもう衝動買い状態です。一度、値段交渉が上手くいくと、こんな楽しいことはないといった感じで5時間も買い物をし続けたという結果です。もう、フルマラソンを走った感じ（笑）。とても楽しい1日でした。今度は12月に行く予定です。
Last time we went to the Alameda Point Antique Fair in August, we were simply overwhelmed by the volume of cool stuff at the fair and ended up buying nothing. After our first visit, We started watching a new show called "Market Warriors" on PBS. We wanted to learn the skills of shopping at antique fairs. It turns out that Colin is an excellent negotiator! He successfully negotiated every single thing we bought. We had the best time of our life buying all these PLASTIC antiques. We're certain we will discover one day on the Antique Roadshow that they are in fact worth thousands of dollars! Stay tuned for future Antique Fair posts !
