映画『鳥』のレストラン。もう面影はほとんど残っていませんが、同じレストランです。このレストランとレストランの前の駐車場が映画の舞台となりました（レストランの中はスタジオ撮影）
The remodelled famous restaurant today does not look anything like the one you see in the film.
However this was the restaurant used in "the Birds" (exterior only).
一緒に写真を撮りたい場合は20ドル。
Autograph fee is $25 to $30 depending on the size of the print, and photograph with her is $20.
She is 82 years old now, but still beautiful and full of energy!
『Bodega Country Store』のオーナーの方が、サインをしてもらうのなら映画『鳥』のコスチュームデザイナーだったEdith Headさんのデザイン画に、サインしてもらうと値打ちがあがるよ♡と教えてくれました。
Tippi Hedrenさんは、「あら、これどこで見つけたの？」と私達に尋ね、
Edith Headさんとはとても仲良しだったのよと話してくれました。
The store owner of the Bodega Country Store recommended us to get a print of her costume design done by Edith Head. If we can get the actress to sign it, he tells us that it would add more value to it (Think "Antique Road Show"!). Tippi Hedren asked us where we got this print! She even shared a short story about Edith Head with us.

食後の伝票に、アメリカ人が大好きなタフィーがついてきました。

ボデガベイ（Bodega Bay）に来る前夜に映画『鳥』を観たばかりだったので、主演女優のTippi Hedrenさんに映画の舞台となったレストランで会えるとは、なんとも不思議な気分でした。Tippi Hedrenさんの声は今も変わりなく、映画の主人公と同じくさばさばした声。サイン会の列に並んでいると、私達の後ろにいたご夫婦が、ベトナム戦争中、Tippi Hedrenさんが米軍を訪問した際の写真をみせてくれました。なんと、そこでツーショットで仲良く写っているのは、ご夫婦のご主人の方ではないですか！とても貴重な写真をみることができました。Tippi Hedrenさんがその写真をみた時、とても感激して私達のポスターとプリントにサインをするのを忘れてしまったほどです（笑）。Tippi Hedrenさんは、私達にライオンや虎などをペットとして飼い悲惨な状況で放棄された動物を保護する活動を行っている話をしてくれました（『Shambala』）。そういう話をする時、私の方をやさしく見つめるTippiさん。後で気づいたことですが、私はその時大きな虎の絵がついたシャツを着ていたのです（笑）。なんたる偶然！
It was sort of surreal to meet Tippi Hedren, the actress we just saw in one of the most famous Hitchcock films the previous night. After more than 40 years later, she is still beautiful. A couple who were waiting in line behind us showed us photos of Tippi Hedren visiting the U.S. troops in Vietnam during the War. And one of the pictures was of the husband and Tippi Hedren! Amazing photos! The actress was so excited to see the photos, she almost forgot to sign our poster and print... She mainly talked to us about one of the abandoned lions she rescued and the sanctuary she has founded for other exotic feline animals called "Shambala." I happened to be wearing a T-shirt of a crying tiger on that day. I could tell she kind of liked me!
さてレストランですが、私達夫婦のようにミーハーな方にはお勧めです（笑）。注文したのは別に特別な料理ではなかったのに、値段はびっくりするほど高い！私の注文した平凡なエビのサラダなんぞは、18ドルもしました。まさに何も知らない観光客用のお値段です。料理の味は、おいしかったですよ（これでまずかったらショックです）。ヒッチコック監督の代表作と言える映画『鳥』の舞台となったレストランで、ランチをする！といった状況に単純に酔いしれ、感激しやすいタイプの方なら、楽しめます。はい、私達夫婦はまさに！そういうタイプです、ふふふ。明日はボデガベイ（Bodega Bay）報告も最後です。え？もういい加減、新しいトピックに？そうおっしゃらずにもう少しおつきあいくださいませ。
I recommend the restaurant if you are nerdy people like us. Just to warn you, the food at the restaurant is very overpriced for what it is (Take a look at the salad I ordered. It was $18 for that!). But, the food does taste good. As long as you are easily amazed by the fact that you are eating your lunch at the location where Alfred Hitchcock filmed the Birds, you will have a wonderful time! And, we certainly did! Tomorrow's post concludes our adventure in Bodega Bay!

昔の映画を観てるとそういう発見もあるから楽しいわね^^
でも時々映画やドラマの途中で「この人何に出てた人だっけ？」って思ったら最後、ずーっと頭から離れなくなっちゃってストーリーに付いて行けなくなっちゃうことがあるわん^^
