アメリカの西海岸に初めてオープンしたマリメッコのお店です

The first Marimekko shop on the U.S. west coast.

買い物をした後、20ドルのギフトカードを貰いました。
また二時間かけて来る価値が充分あるギフトカードです。

They gave me a $20 gift card to spend on my next purchase. Well, in that case, I have a very good reason to make Colin drive 2 hours to go back!

パロアルト（Palo Alto）にあるスタンフォード‧ショッピングセンターの中に、マリメッコのお店がオープンしました！もう、私は嬉しくて仕方がない。パロアルトへは、車で二時間ほどかかりますが、マリメッコのお店があるニューヨークへ行くことを思えば、へっちゃらです（運転するのは、コリンですが）。マリメッコのドレスを身近でみるのは、これが初めて。ドレスをみて、こんなに興奮したことはないほど、興奮しました。ちょうど、コリンの会社のクリスマスパーティーへ行く際のドレスを探していたので、私はどーしても、なんとしても、マリメッコのドレスが欲しい！興奮状態のまま、マリメッコのドレスを四着も試着。ほっておけば、全部のドレスを試着していたかもしれません。マリメッコのドレスは、素敵なだけでなく着心地も抜群です。北米では、パーティーは、夫婦揃って出席するもの。もう北米に住んで20年になりますが、私のパーティー嫌いは、有名。いつもなんだかんだ口実を作って、パーティーを避けます。パーティーにはほとんど出席しないので、カナダに住んでいた時、コリンの同僚は、コリンは結婚していないんではないのかと、噂がたったほど（笑）。そんな私ですが、マリメッコのドレスを買った後は違いますよ。もう、このドレスを来てパーティーに出かけたくて今からうずうずしています♡

P.S. カナダの友達が、バンクーバーにはもう既にマリメッコのお店があると教えてくれました。

Marimekko shop opened in Palo Alto (Stanford Shopping Center) a month ago. Hurray! That means I don't need to fly to N.Y. to shop at a Marimekko store...for now at least. The store was as lovely as I imagined it to be. Oh the dresses! They are the prettiest things I have ever seen. I happened to be looking for a new dress to wear to Colin's company Christmas party. I tried four of their dresses, they were all so pretty and very comfortable to wear. If I could, I would have tried on every single one of them in the store. Do you know how long I've been staring at their website, wishing to try on their dresses? A looooong time! It was the best changing room experience EVER! I usually hate going to parties, and I try everything I can to avoid them (Colin's friends think I don't exist!). But, this year, I can not wait to go to parties, if that means I can wear my new Marimekko dress. Where is the next paaaarty?

P.S. My friend in Canada just informed me that they have a Marimekko store in Vancouver!
